My husband and I have been married for 18 years and it’s only been recently that we’ve made some progress to being on the same page with our finances. I mourn for the 18 years of lost time, the 18 years where we could have been building wealth, living like no one else so that we can live like no one else, as Dave Ramsey would say. My husband is awesome, he is generous and is always giving money away…
Dear Friends, As Omicron spreads rapidly around the world, I do hope that you will stay safe this Christmas. We have made the decision to stay in Kenya this Christmas, although we would dearly love to be with friends and family back in the UK, we thought that this was the right choice. I pray that you will be able to relax with a mince pie and some festive cheer! As I reflect on the past few months, despite the…

Saturday 24th July 2021 Bob still wasn’t keen to reveal our total debt, so I basically kept bothering him to find out. Not ideal I know. Here’s what he, begrudgingly, told me: Credit Card 1 $384 Credit Card 2 $1330 Car Loan $16,634 Total: $18,348 I was totally calm, didn’t fly off the handle and told him that it’s not horrendous and we could use our Florida savings ($23,372) to clear that all off. He totally wasn’t happy about that…
Thursday 22ndJuly 2021 This morning, I took the family out for a light breakfast (coffee and pastry). It was a great opportunity to discuss our budget as a family. I had suggested this on Wednesday, so it wasn’t a surprise to either of them. It was great! Bob had a good look at the ‘Every Dollar App’ and inputted some of the data. Better still, when he when shopping later that day – he kept to the list and paid…
